2015 will be my year...

It is a bitter cold morning in New York- I broke out my jacket that resembles a down comforter with a zipper! Keeping my hands warm is a hot cup of green tea...

Today is the second day of the second phase of my diet journey. On December 27th I began my life change cleaning out the cabinets of all tempting snacks, ridding the house of holiday sweets and calorie laden leftovers. Now I am transitioning into portioned healthy meals, drinking at least 2L of water daily and cutting back on coffee.

2015 will be my year! In ten months when I walk down the aisle I want to look as beautiful as I am sure I will feel inside.

Merry Christmas Eve...

Today will be quite the busy one around the Golightly household. We are hosting Christmas Eve this year and so much still has to be done! Luckily I am off work today by 1pm (though I have a city to islands commuter) and Mister should be home by 2!

Merry Christmas Eve Dahlings - may love and peace be found in this holiday (if you celebrate and may delicious Chinese food and the latest Hobbit delight of you don't - I personally am itching to see it!!)

Xoxo-

Feeling the chill...

Because sometimes the weather says its 40 degrees but it feels like negative 2 degrees with the wind!

I suppose it could also be the Harem pants that are not helping against the December chill- but they are just darling though!

First Date Jitters...

Yesterday was so much fun! Mister Golightly and I had a blast on our first date/proposal recreate! Armed with fun props to add a little extra to the photoshoot - we braved the freezing temps and in my mother's words "smiled pretty"!

We started off at Starbucks where years ago on a Sunday afternoon in October we were just supposed to "grab coffee". The staff were extremely sweet and wrote bride and groom on the cups and two older gentlemen were gracious enough to give up the cozy chairs! The hot chai latte was much appreciated when we took our photos outdoors to the neighboring mini golf course. The manager Andrew could not have been more gracious! He loved our story and how our first date, first kiss and proposal all happened on his course.

We had the entire place to ourselves and had an amazing time! Nothing felt posed and everything felt natural and it came across in every shot! I can't wait to see the photos and should be seeing them later today - talk about an excellent turn around!

1st Date Recreate!

So excited! Tomorrow my fiancĂ© and I are doing a first date re-create photo shoot! In our case, this also happens to be a proposal re-create as well since we always re-live our first date to celebrate!

It seems silly, but I am so happy to have the chance to capture all of this on film! This way, should my child ever say, "how did you meet daddy?" I can pull out the album and show them!

But tonight I am running around trying to figure out what I and Mr. Golightly will be wearing...

Or maybe wearing these...

My morning commute...

As the temperatures continue to hover around the 30s - I find myself relying more and more on winter accessories to keep me warm and my outfit cheerful. This morning that included my leopard print fuzzy moccasins, zara blanket scarf and leather sleeved black jacket.

But when all else fails... nothing works as well as a hot cup of Peppermint Tea!

Hope you are all staying warm!

Anyone who ever gave you confidence, you owe them a lot...

I missed this medium of expression. It has been a while since I last blogged. I got weighed down with finishing my Master's Program and then once again with getting started in my career. I have toyed with the idea of coming back and continuing to write about the things that interest me, amuse and delight me and have often put it to the side. When telling clients about the importance of self-care, one of the most simplistic and yet heavily rewarding aspects is to find a hobby which brings you joy; and it is with that in mind that I have come back to MMG.

So welcome back Dahlings!
