time for a life reboot...
If you haven't yet, I highly recommend watching the Joe Cross documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" it is a miraculous take on how we really have the power to heal ourselves from the inside out. Nearly 100 pounds overweight and dependent on steroids Joe goes on a road trip across the United States existing solely on "green juice" made from fresh vegetables and fruits. After reading more about Joe's journey on http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/ and then further on http://jointhereboot.com/ I have decided to try a 15 day reboot of my own.
All my fruits and vegetables have been pre-cut to make juicing easier throughout the 15 days I will probably have to restock in about 3 days time. In addition I will be drinking water and trying to do yoga each morning.
I start tomorrow - and I am actually pretty excited :)

bittersweet goodbye...
so it has been a bittersweet goodbye - Harry - Hermione, Ron, Jo Rowling - thank you so much for all you have given to my childhood - you showed me that good can triumph evil, that a person can make up for past wrongs through glorious acts of redemption and that love never fades once it is given. I cannot begin to express how much I loved the last Potter movie and how sad I am that it is now a closed chapter in my life. I will share these stories and films with my children someday - the magic will continue on through them.

exciting news!
Did you know Bellatrix means "Warlike" in Latin? I played with naming my cat Bellatrix and went with Bela Lugosi instead lol (vampire or wizard - his bite decided for him)
So as exciting as it is that Harry Potter has premiered to rave reviews and is 3 days away from general release - even more personally exciting in my life is a second interview at a job I really really want! So readers - please cross your fingers for me tomorrow that all goes well - I am off to press my suit and get myself together.

yankee with southern roots...
I will do a Harry Potter post later tonight - but this summer heat has me thinking of my Great-Gram a true Southern Belle and all the delicious recipes she makes with ease. After doing a full clean on my apartment I have the strongest craving for her Sun Tea - sometimes called Sweet Tea - and wish I didn't live in an apartment so that I could make some of my own. For those of you more fortunate than I - please brew a batch and enjoy - I know I am going to have to wait until I get back home until I can enjoy a nice cold batch!
Sun Tea Recipe
Make it by the gallon. Use 6 tea bags of strong black variety (depending upon your personal taste). Fill with good clean and sweet water. Place in the sun and allow to steep for at least 5 hours. Pour a cup of boiling water over about 3 tablespoons of honey and stir until melted. Add to the tea and leave another half an hour. Then cool and pour over ice for a truly refreshing drink!
Serve with a slice of lemon, sprigs of mint and for festive occasions - cocktail umbrellas.

9 Days Till Harry...
I needed some humor today - with my final project hanging over my head - this week hasn't been sunshine and roses - more library and long hours - but Harry is the light at the end of my proverbial tunnel! I thought you all might enjoy a laugh as well - especially at Voldey's expense!

10 Days of Potter :)
So, for the next ten days I thought I would share Harry Potter Quotes, interesting tid-bits and ideas to have your own Harry Potter Party before the last movie is released July 15th!
Personally this is a bittersweet moment for me and most of my friends because for as much as we are excited to see the last film and witness the Battle of Hogwarts - we know at the same time we are saying goodbye to a piece of our childhood. Thank you Jo Rowling for giving nerdy magic loving bookworm kids like myself a safe refuge. Harry, Hermione and Ron became friends when I needed them most - it will always be real for me.
